WHAT’S THAT FUNNY SOUND?
Whether found on a human being or animal, the ear is a highly complex organ. Ears come in all shapes and sizes and they are wonderful at capturing sounds. I won’t being going into much detail here about the inner workings of ears but let us pause and take note of the shape of the ear.
Ears have the amazing ability of capturing sound waves for our use and helping us keep our balance. Once the sound enters the ear canal, the inner parts of the ear send the vibrations of sound to the brain for interpretation. Ears are generally curved outward therefore allowing a greater volume (no pun intended) of sound waves to be captured.
Ears on animals can move in various directions. Sometimes the outer ear as found on animals such as a cat, can move quite rapidly to better capture a particular sound. Picking up this sound early may allow them to escape danger or just get a jump on their dinner.
Do you think the ear was created or formed some other way?
